At
present we have only
the Irregular Verbs program. It teaches the past tense of these troublesome words. It is a free download from Krypton Press. To download simply click on the
Irregular Verbs. Accept the download and then save and execute the program.
How it works?
The verbs are divided into 5 groups. The divisions are made according to the pronunciation of the past tens. The sound of the vowel in each past tense verb in each group is alike.
- In Section 1 the second letter of the past tense is pronounced similar to the letter "a" [^]
- In Section 2 the second letter of the past tense is pronounced similar to the letter "e" [e]
- In Section 3 the second letter of the past tense is pronounced similar to the letter "i"
[I]
- In Section 4 the
second letter of the past tense is pronounced
similar to the letter "o" [o]
- In Section 5 the
second letter of the past tense is pronounced
similar to the letter "u" [u]
- Additionally our
software has Section 6, where you can practise
the past tense of all irregular verbs randomly,
and Section 7, where you can practise the past
participle of all irregular verbs randomly.
To start learning or to
test yourself, click on Section 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5,
type in the required word, and press Enter. The
program will check your spelling, and if the
spelling is correct it will ask you to type in
the next word. If you spell the word incorrectly,
the program will show you the correct spelling
for 2 seconds, and then allow you to type it
again afterwards. The incorrectly typed verb will
be bookmarked, allowing you to spell it again
later. The bookmarks allow you to concentrate on
verbs you have misspelled or added to your list.
It is an especially useful feature of the
Irregular Verbs, and helps you learn more quickly. Enjoy playing and learning.
